“Oh for a 1,000 … languages to tell my great Redeemer’s praise”; Slovakia report part 1
I am on day 9 of my 11-day trip to Slovakia. Thank you for praying for me. The Lord has graciously answered so many prayer requests, including the following: I’ve had safety on all my flights and transport to the two different venues; my luggage made it safely; I have remained healthy; I was exhaustedContinue reading ““Oh for a 1,000 … languages to tell my great Redeemer’s praise”; Slovakia report part 1″

Dates, dances, and printing the Gospel of Luke & 50 Bible stories

We continue painting our house in Belton, MO, in prep for our move in mid-May.Continue reading “Dates, dances, and printing the Gospel of Luke & 50 Bible stories”
Lost (and found) in translation: installment #3 ; Luke 1:1-2
The opening of a story or a letter is important since it sets the tone for, and makes clear the purpose of, what is being written. This is no less true for the books of the Bible, than for any other literature. Luke opens his gospel account with a densely worded introduction and sometimes theContinue reading “Lost (and found) in translation: installment #3 ; Luke 1:1-2”

Days 10 & 11: Sowing God’s Word among the Roma in Croatia and Serbia
After spending the night in the town where Djena and Biljana live, we drove an hour and a half to Slavonski Brod, the city where we used to live. It was great to meet up with our old teammates and the translators there in our old city. We showed the Roma village to Pierre andContinue reading “Days 10 & 11: Sowing God’s Word among the Roma in Croatia and Serbia”
