Occupational therapy (OT) made a new splint for Matthew’s arm today (see picture). The purpose is to keep his left hand and upper arm immobile and in a position that will help keep the finger joints from locking up. OT showed us a few finger and wrist stretching exercises, which either we will do orContinue reading “Pray for Matthew & us for future steps”

Pamala, Daniel & Ariela arrived in SF
Pamala, Daniel, and Ariela arrived in San Francisco last night. Matthew and I are glad to have them here! Unfortunately, someone mistakenly took Pam’s bag at baggage claim, so they had no clean clothes when they arrived. But this morning, the person who accidentally took the bag returned it to the airport, and the airlineContinue reading “Pamala, Daniel & Ariela arrived in SF”
Matthew had an uneventful day–which is a nice thing!
Today was a fairly uneventful day for Matthew, which is a lovely kind to have these days! Physical therapy had him walk around some, the doctors changed his dressings, and he has been able to rest. Matthew not having surgery today
Matthew will not be having surgery today. The surgeons are happy with the way the swelling is going down and content for him now to be on a low-fat diet to see how the thoracic duct responds. He will have a wound washout and VAC change out on Friday. Thankfully it will be done atContinue reading “Matthew not having surgery today”
Please pray for Matthew’s 8th surgery tomorrow
Thank you for praying for Matthew. The good news is that apparently the fluid which is collecting near his collar bone does not show signs of infection. The bad news is that it is chyle which is leaking from the lymphatic system (called a chylous leak). They have put Matthew on a low fat dietContinue reading “Please pray for Matthew’s 8th surgery tomorrow”
