This Sunday, 11/8, I will be preaching a missions message at our home church, CrossWay Bible Church in Blue Springs, MO. If you have not had a chance yet to hear this message, feel free to tune in live at 9:00 am or watch it at any other time online after. (CORRECTION ADDED 11/13: apparently the recording of the video of the sermon did not work, but you can listen to, watch, or read an older version at https://toddlprice.com/roma-bible-translation/.)

I spent last week in Oklahoma City helping my parents and getting them to and from hotels as a major ice storm knocked out power to their home for five days. Dad is struggling with Alzheimer’s and Mom with Parkinson’s. Please pray for them, and for my sister, Tracey, and others caring for them at this time, and for a good long-term care solution for them.

As it turned out, the speaking engagement we had planned for last week in Illinois was canceled due to COVID rules newly in place in that State. (The blessing was that I could stay a couple of days longer to help my parents in Oklahoma rather than hurrying back to Missouri to travel to Illinois).

Two of our Roma translators in Croatia have COVID. They are doing better, but please pray for a full recovery. Another one of our translation teams will have to do the testing of Luke in their language over Zoom or Messenger, rather than in person since COVID has spread to many parts of Croatia. (Another of our Roma translators in Croatia and his family had COVID-like symptoms a couple of months ago, but thankfully they are fine now.)

We are doing our Bible translation editing checks with our consultants by Zoom now rather than in person. We had canceled the two consultant workshops we had planned for May and October 2020 which we had intended to hold in-person in Croatia. Due to COVID, we are not sure when we will be able to travel back to Croatia with the Bible translation consultants for our next workshops. Because of COVID and all the transitions we had with Matthew’s accident and us moving back to the States, we are about 7 months behind in our translation goals. We have applied for an extension of funding with The Seed Company which they are currently considering. Please pray that we can finish the Gospel of Luke in all five of the Roma languages by the end of August 2021, which is the time through which the funding extension would run.
