Today I’ve been working on translating the passages about Jesus commissioning the 12 for their Galilean tour (Mark 3:13-19, Matt 10:1-5). See the first part on http://toddlprice.com/bible-translation/

I’ve been translating Matthew 8:28-34 and the parallel passages, Mark 5:1-20 and Luke 8:26-39. Three different names are used for the region in which this story takes place.

It is interesting how many times what is one word in one language requires multiple words in another language. I was reminded of this today when translating Matthew 8:26 for Bosnian: what we have to render as “you of little faith” is just one word in NT Greek, ὀλιγόπιστοι and also in Bosnia “malovjerni” (meaning little-faith-ones).
Today I am working on translating Matthew 8:23-27. Ever wondered what the fishing boats of the time looked like? Here are a couple pictures
April 9, 2010. Today I finished work on Luke 9:57-62. You’ll see some Bosnian phrases within the translation. See the BIBLE TRANSLATION page on this blog to see the text and footnotes. See http://toddlprice.com/bible-translation/
