A 31- (OR 7-) DAY GUIDE FOR PRAYING FOR YOURSELF, OTHERS & WORLD MISSIONS IN 2018

This guide lists 31 Scriptural prayers, one for each day of the month. It is also divided into 7 topics so that the requests can be used for each day of the week.

SUNDAY: Pray for the glory of God

  1. God’s name to be honored (Matt 6:9)

Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, your name be honored as holy.

 (Matt. 6:9 CSB)

  1. God’s kingdom to come (Matt 6:10)

may your kingdom come, (Matt. 6:10 NET)

  1. God’s will to be done on earth (Matt 6:10)

may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matt. 6:10 NET)

MONDAY: Pray for the holiness of God’s people

  1. To not fall into sin (Matt 6:13; Luke 22:46; 2 Cor 13:7)

And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. (Matt. 6:13 HCSB)

Get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation!” (Lk. 22:46 NET)

Now we pray to God that you do nothing wrong (2 Cor. 13:7 HCSB)

  1. To be made mature (2 Cor 13:9)

We pray that you will become mature. (2 Cor. 13:9 NLT)

  1. To approve what is excellent (Phil 1:10)

so that you can approve the things that are superior (Phil. 1:10 HCSB)

  1. To be sincere, blameless and filled with righteousness (Phil 1:11)

so that you … can be pure and blameless in the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ (Phil. 1:11 NIV)

  1. To attain steadfastness and patience (Col 1:11)

being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, (Col. 1:11 NIV)

  1. To be joyful and thankful (Col 1:11-12)

and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. (Col. 1:12 NIV)

  1. To be made worthy of God’s calling (2 Thess 1:11)

we pray for you always, that our God will make you worthy of his calling (2 Thess. 1:11 NET)

TUESDAY: Pray for fruit in the lives of God’s people

  1. To live in a manner worthy of the Lord (Col 1:10)

so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord (Col. 1:10 NIV)

  1. To please God in all respects (Col 1:10)

so that you may … please him in every way (Col. 1:10 NIV)

  1. To bear fruit in every good work (Col 1:10)

that you may be fruitful in every good work (Col. 1:10 Norlie)

  1. To accomplish every desire for goodness and work of faith (2 Thess 1:11)

fulfill by his power your every desire for goodness and every work of faith, (2 Thess. 1:11 NET)

WEDNESDAY: Pray for spiritual understanding for God’s people

  1. To know the hope of God’s calling (Eph 1:18)

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, (Eph. 1:18 NIV)

  1. To know the riches of his inheritance (Eph 1:18)

 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may knowthe riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, (Eph. 1:18 NIV)

  1. To know the greatness of his power (Eph 1:19)

 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may knowhis incomparably great power for us who believe. (Eph. 1:19 NIV)

  1. Their love to abound in knowledge and discernment (Phil 1:9)

And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment, (Phil. 1:9 HCSB)

  1. To be filled with the knowledge of God’s will (Col 1:9)

asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, (Col. 1:9 ESV)

  1. To increase in the knowledge of God (Col 1:10)

increasing in the knowledge of God (Col. 1:10 ESV)

  1. That God would give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation (Eph 1:20)

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. (Eph. 1:17 NASB)

  1. To have knowledge of every good thing in the believer (Philemon 6)

I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. (Phlm. 1:6 NIV)

THURSDAY: Pray for the spread of the Gospel

  1. For more workers for God’s harvest fields (Matt 9:38)

pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. (Matt. 9:38 ESV)

  1. For the words to speak and boldness to proclaim the Gospel (Eph 6:19)

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, (Eph. 6:19 NIV)

  1. For God’s Word to spread rapidly and be honored (2 Thess 3:1)

In addition, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you, (2 Thess. 3:1 CSB)

  1. For rescue from opposition to the Gospel (2 Thess 3:2; Rom 15:31)

Pray that we may be kept free from the snares of perverse and wicked men, for not all men are of the faith. (2 Thess. 3:2 Norlie)

Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea, that the gift I am bringing to Jerusalem  may be acceptable to the saints, (Rom. 15:31 CSB)

  1. For open doors for the Gospel message (Col 4:3)

pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, (Col. 4:3 CSB)

FRIDAY: Pray for physical needs

  1. For God to meet our daily needs (Matt 6:11)

Give us this day our daily bread. (Matt. 6:11 NASB)

  1. For healing for the sick and suffering (Jas 5:13-16)

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. … Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him … pray for one another, so that you may be healed. (Jas. 5:13-16 NASB)

SATURDAY: Pray for those in authority and for enemies

  1. For people in authority so we can live peaceful lives (1 Tim 2:1-2)

make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people, 2 for rulers, and for everyone who has authority over us. Pray for these people so that we can have a quiet and peaceful life always lived in a godly and reverent way. (1 Tim. 2:1-2 God’s Word for the Nations)

  1. For enemies, persecutors and those who have wronged you (Matt 5:44; 6:12)

pray for those who persecute you, (Matt. 5:44 ESV)

and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. (Matt. 6:12 NLT)
