This morning I finished reading Scot McKnight’s, The King Jesus Gospel: The Original Good News Revisited, Zondervan, 2011 and I can highly recommend it. I think the church really needs this book. Of course, I don’t agree with every jot and tittle, but I think he is ‘spot-on’ with the main points he is making. Amazon gives the following book description:
“Contemporary evangelicals have built a ‘salvation culture’ but not a ‘gospel culture.’ Evangelicals have reduced the gospel to the message of personal salvation. This book makes a plea for us to recover the old gospel as that which is still new and still fresh.
